The paradox I’m feeling here is how do you assign a lesser known, non-household name studio something as massive as the return of KOTOR, but it’s still a studio that has the resources and talent to be able to pull that off? Granted, we have seen studios grow from small projects to large ones in the past, but this is a huge project and a beloved series, so giving it to an obscure developer seems like a risk.

It’s also hard to know if Disney would give a game like this to a Microsoft-owned studio (though they did with Machine Games’ Indiana Jones title) where it could be exclusive to Xbox and PC.Īny Sony Studio – Again, same problem, as it seems unlikely that Disney would want KOTOR to be a console exclusive, so I wouldn’t imagine that Guerrilla Games or Sucker Punch or Insomniac or Naughty Dog or any of those are in the mix.īungie – We know Bungie is working on non-Destiny IPs in their incubator, but a KOTOR reboot seems extremely unlikely, and they’re too known of a studio to qualify, I believe. Obsidian/Bethesda – These are obviously two of the highest profile RPG makers out there, and both are now owned by Microsoft.
